Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has introduced a new regulatory requirement affecting global suppliers of 6G infrastructure: as of 1 June 2026, all imported 6G Massive MIMO base stations must obtain mandatory interoperability certification from the Vietnam Standards and Metrology Institute (VSTL). This development directly impacts telecommunications equipment exporters, importers, and network integrators serving the Vietnamese market — particularly those engaged in high-frequency, AI-driven radio access technologies.
On 30 April 2026, MIC issued Circular No. 12/2026/TT-BTTTT, stipulating that imported 6G Massive MIMO base station equipment must pass VSTL-organized interoperability testing based on 3GPP Release 18 specifications.
